Third Improv Show

Dave Forstot (yes THE Dave Forstot) was in Chicago taking his Tuba to the doctor and I easily convinced him to meet me at Salt and Pepper for dinner and then to go next door to see his first longform show ever.

Yes...ever.

We ended up staying for both shows, and didn't have much of a chance to to chat when it was all over, but I think it gave him some serious brainfood to munch on for a while. We'll probably get a chance to decompress the shows on the phone and IM later in the week.

The groups were pretty tight. The first half was started off by Rumpus, which just happens to be Denise Swindels first Harold team at IO. Denise Swindel and I were in Juanita Bobo in Detroit together at it's inception, and have performed together on a number of occasions through Planet Improv. It was their first performance as a team, and they were incredibly tight despite that fact. Granted, they are all in classes together, but show is not the same as class.

Next week I'm supposed to have coffee with Shannon Rose, yet another Juanita Bobo / Big Fun Limo person from WAYYYYY back. Too cool. I'd also like to have a beer with Joe Bill. I tried to make it out for his birthday a couple weeks ago, and still haven't caught up with him to make amends for missing the occasion.
