20 weeks

Wednesday marks the official half-way point on this pregnancy. I'm getting bigger but have only gained one pound so far. I'm sure that will change very soon; I'm hungry all the time. I'm getting to water aerobics at least a couple times a week and can't wait for the temperatures to be more seasonal so I can get some longer walks in. I really hate the cold.

I've been having trouble sleeping. It's getting harder to be comfortable. A new wrinkle in this is Rachel's toddler bed. Now that she can get out of bed in the middle of the night she often times ends up sleeping next to me. This is crowded with the two of us and nearly impossible with three. I'm hoping that as this transition to the new bed gets smoother she'll feel more comfortable staying in her bed all night. I'm sure she won't fit safely in the bed soon and at the very latest can't be in bed with the new baby. I don't see it going that far though.

Heartburn, leg cramps and hip pain are the three physical ailments that affect me most often. I had a massage on Saturday which helped me relax and get some much needed rest. I got massages when I was pregnant with Rachel and they helped a lot. With this pregnancy I intend to get one every two to three weeks. Hopefully Chuck and I can make the time for this.

We had our ultrasound the end of March and it appears we're having a girl. We weren't sure if we were going to find out the sex of the baby this time. We did not with Rachel. I decided I needed some mid-pregnancy excitement. I'm looking forward to reusing all Rachel cute Hanna Andersson clothes; they are sturdy, organic and too cute not to use again.

My next appointment with the midwife is the end of April. Chuck took time off to come to the next one. He went to nearly every appointment I had when I was pregnant with Rachel and I think he feels like he's missing out with this one. So far everything is going very smoothly and there's not much to report. I'm okay with that.
