“The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but
that it is too low and we reach it.”
- Michelangelo
...and one more year of teething to go. Yippy. I was up quite a bit last night with Rachel. It seems she finally cut her upper right central incisor. You know it's bad when she wakes up like clockwork when her medicine wears off. Last night she was up 2.5 hours before her medicine wore off. She was hurting.
Speaking of hurting, she just woke up from a 20 minute snooze. Rachel, that does not count as a nap. Poor little pink gums.
My little girl knows what is important, apparently.
Hopefully she doesn't ask for "car Keys" or "Raise in allowance" any time soon.
Rachel has used the sign for change many times before, but usually it is while I'm changing her on the table. Today, she crawled up to me and told me that she needed to be changed. I took her word for it even though I had just changed her a half hour before. Sure enough, she had made her stinkies and let me know that she needed a clean diaper. She's amazing. I'm so proud.
Words Rachel signs all the time:
Eat
Milk
More (sometimes it's a variation on her high chair tray)
All done/Finished
Clean/Clean up
Bed
Change
Dad
Ball
Hat
Fan (this is her current favorite!)
Signs we've seen at least once or twice:
Water
Please
Help
Mom
Medicine
Outside
Words Rachel says all the time:
Ah Dun (all done)
Da(h)d
dow(n)
That (she points to everything and says "that")
Words she's said at least once or twice:
Mama
nigh(t) nigh(t)
ba(th)
ba(ll) - These actually do sound different.
du(ck)
Chuck would probably have more to add to the list. I'm sure she says/signs different things to him than she does to me.
5. this picture from Christmas is an oldie but a goodie
4. first time in the pool
3. This picture was taken right after we got her a new ball cap.
2. new hat from Aunty Gillian.
1. My girl decided to go pantsless for her afternoon snooze.
5. clap, clap, claps her hands
4. We're one step closer to night weaning. Rachel only wakes up once during the night to eat and it's usually before I go to bed.
3. she signs "fan" all the time - she loves the ceiling fans
2. She's learned to stand up on her own. Watch out; she'll be walking soon.
1. Rachel has two more teeth (She got her upper left lateral and central incisors this past week.)
