I was down a total of six pounds on Monday, but this week was extremely high stress and poor workouts. I’m still eating well, but with my lackluster presentation in the gym this week, I have anxiety over what Monday’s weigh-in will bring.
Wish me luck.
Yeah, so far my girl has slept through the night Twice. Yep, that's it. She's had a really hard time sleeping lately. I think she's getting teeth. Her gums are swollen and look roughed up, and she signs for more medicine and points to her teeth. Poor little stinker. Poor sleepless Mommy. Oh well. She's taking a really good nap right now so I best get something done before it's too late. More on the daily adventures of Rachel and Mommy later.
Rachel (and Mommy) had a rough day today. She didn't take a nap or make her stinkies today. If that wasn't enough to make someone miserable, she cut her finger on the TV guard this evening. Oh yeah, and I think she's getting her molars. Good times.
This is the year of my 30th birthday. I'm very excited about this because I've come a long way in the past few years and I have some very good things to show for it.
Chuck and I have been married for three years and have known each other for just over 13 years. We now have a beautiful baby girl, Rachel, who will be turning one this October. She's amazing and is changing so fast.
We just made the move from MI to live closer to my fam in WI and were able to purchase our first house.
I weighed in yesterday and am officially down four pounds.
I know it’s not much, but it’s a start, and I plan on continued progress. Also, my lifts are gaining strength (a little, anyway), so hopefully I’m gaining a little lean muscle mass as well.
Good Times.
It was such a busy week that I haven't had time to write. Rachel's been having a hard time sleeping maybe due to her recent milestone. Last week at Troy and Sara's house, Rachel took her first little steps. She's been brave enough to attempt them a couple of times since, but she's not running around the house yet - Thank goodness for that. We had a nice time at the Hanover Branch and can't wait to see the gang again soon. Rachel's birthday is fast aproaching and we'll have family over to celebrate. Rachel really loved playing with her cousin Toad and we point to his picture all the time now.

I officially joined the Body For Life challenge last week. I feel like I’m about a week behind, as I spent last week really figuring out what I had to do and how to do it. I got a new journal, created a new page on the site to help track my progress, got my measurements and my first round of supplements.
Officially joining the challenge means that there is a $50,000 prize at stake, not to mention reimbursement for all of the supplements that I might buy, should I purchase the EAS variety (which I have to do, at least in part, if I want to win, which I do).
I know that you’re thinking, “Why supplements?” and it’s really quite simple. Eating 6 meals a day is hard to do when I’m at home with a full kitchen to prepare a weeks worth of meals. But on the road, I need the help that Myoplex powder or an RTD offers in terms of nutrition and ease of preparation. Also, supplements like creatine are actually proven increase overall strength and performance. More muscle equals a bigger engine to burn fat. Couple a good diet with a kick-ass, or should I say “ass kicking”, work out program (I barely made it through my routine today…tired, tired tired) and it’s just the right recipe for success.
The Best Buy environment is also an excellent place to work on my health and fitness goals. There is an awesome gym in the building (with personal trainers if I’m so inclined), and I can eat two of my three main meals in their cafeteria without being worried about the contents. I have yet to plan something and not been able to get it. Typically I eat egg beaters and kettle oats (sometimes with almonds) for breakfast, and a nice healthy salad with a chicken breast and vinegar and oil for lunch. They also have an excellent multi-grain concoction on the salad bar from time-to-time during lunch that is an excellent addition to my meal. In the morning there’s also a large fruit bar with cottage cheese (I have to man up and eat that shit, it’s one of the best anabolic foods out there, but *shudder* it’s friggin’ cottage cheese), though I don’t typically go for more than some melon and blue berries if the berries are present.
Congrats to my friend Tara who delivered her third baby yesterday morning - a boy named Griffith. He was 7 lb 4 oz and 19.5 in long which (I'm told) was exactly the same as his daddy when he was born.
I can't wait to see the clan. They are coming into town in a couple of weeks for a wedding. I can't wait. I haven't seen Tara since my wedding almost three years ago. I love you Tara.
This weekend, Rachel finally slept through the night. What a big girl.
