Yesterday Rachel and I were busy. She was a little grouchy because she was cutting another tooth and she's always a little anxious on daddy's coming home day. Anyway, I decided to change her sheets and throw a load in the wash and while I was at it, I'd throw in her blanket and Eeyore too. I thought I'll get them in early enough that she'll have them back in plenty of time for nap. Oh was this a mistake. She was so upset that I took her "Bobby" and "Buddy" that she cried and cried. She stood at the top of the stair calling, "Bobby - Buddy - Out!" My poor miserable girl. I tried to distract her with a different blanket and even some Elmo on TV and she wasn't falling for it. The washing mashine and drier could not work fast enough for her. Finally, she got distracted by something and we made it through lunch and heard the drier buzz. She put her finger to her ear to indicate that she heard the drier and said, "Bobby!" We promptly went downstairs to get Bobby and Buddy just in time for a nap. Whew!
I've gotten through another small picture box. Most of the picture got thrown out (they were out of focus or such). I did manage to find a handful of picture discs that were easy to put online and then proceeded to scan, scan, scan.
Here's one of Tara and me the summer before I went to college.

Rachel is 15 months old today. How time flies. I've been trying to gather milestone information for her appointment tomorrow. At my count she's up to 71 words and 38 signs that she can say. Crazy. She can kick a ball, feed her doll (and Mommy), help to get dressed and undressed. She can follow simple commands like, "Go get your blanky." She's also recently started climbing everything. Look out world! I'll let you know how tall and skinny she is when I get her stats at the clinic tomorrow.
Wish us a good night's sleep tonight.
As part of my decluttering around the house, I'm (slowly) dealing with the boxes of pictures that I have. I have a pretty hefty box of my own plus several albums and I have a tub of picture I got when my grandparents passed away. It would be too bad to let them sit and collect dust without anyone enjoying them, so I am trying to get them online.
Enjoy.
Rachel had a high fever this morning so I took her into the clinic. They thought she may have strep (it is going around), but she tested negative. That being said, her tonsils are still red and swollen with spots. The Dr said she's probably got a virus and will feel sore for about a week. Boo hoo. Despite being sick and clearly uncomfortable, she's in a pretty good mood and has a decent appetite. She ate a bigger than expected lunch and had no problem drifting off to sleep for her nap. I hope she gets a good, long nap in to help her feel better. We'll see. The Tylenol will be wearing off soon and I'd like to see her get another hour in.

We had a wonderful Christmas in Michigan with Chuck's family and a second Christmas celebration in Wisconsin with my family. We've been busy, busy and are happy to get back into our regular routine. Everyone was very generous and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Thank you to everyone who helped make the season bright.
